The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) is also known as the Dow 30 or just Dow. It is a stock market index and one of the most important world financial indices. It was found on May 26, 1896, and today it is owned by the CME Group. Dow 30 follows the daily fluctuations of 30 large publicly owned US companies.
