The NASDAQ 100 is a capitalization-weight index listing the 100 largest non-monetary companies incorporated in the NASDAQ list. Companies outside US are included too. The NASDAQ-100 which was born on 1985 focuses on many different industries (except financials). Especially for the financial industry, Nasdaq introduced another brother index called NASDAQ Financial-100. Nasdaq 100 is mainly focused on dynamic industries like Technology, Telecoms, Biotechnology and Media. The beginning price of Nasdaq 100 was set at 250 points, but on December 31, 1993, the base of Nasdaq was reset from 800 points to 125 points.
